MOLASSES CRINKLE COOKIES | Easy Kid-Friendly Holiday Cookie Recipe
During the holiday season, one holiday dessert favorite that comes to mind are gingerbread men or cookies. However, I tend to favor chewy cookies instead. So, when I came across a recipe for a chewy gingerbread inspired cookie, I knew I had to adapt it! This Molasses Crinkle cookie recipe literally tastes like a gingerbread man and a sugar cookie lady had a beautiful cookie baby lol!

MOLASSES CRINKLE COOKIES
1 Cup Sugar
3/4 Cup Unsalted Butter, Softened
1 Tbsp Molasses for light flavor or 1/4 Cup for full flavor
1 Egg
2 1/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp cinnamon
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tsp Ground Ginger
Sugar for coating
Step 1 Cream the butter and the brown sugar. Stir in the egg and molasses and mix well.
Step 2 Combine the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and ginger. Add the flour mixture to the shortening mixture and mix well. Cover and chill dough for at least 1 hour.
Step 3 Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 4 Roll dough into balls the size of large walnuts. Roll balls in sugar and place 3 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes. Let cool for one minute before transferring to a wire rack to continue cooling.
